Folks, I really would like to do all these look ups for you but my time is limited right now. I have done look ups before and will again but right now is not good timing. Just trying to help by posting the info about the article. Also, this is really the kind of article you ought to have a copy of if you have ancestors from Burke Co. It is almost an article of lists and not completely indexed. I had to almost read the entire thing to find all the names I wanted. Sandy
If anyone has a copy of the article, I would love a lookup on David Emanuel and Eliphalet and Benjamin Whitaker. I live in a tiny town in East Texas and do not have access to a large library. yes i live in waynesboro. what is the date af the article? i will try to find a copy here. virginia
Hi Sandy, Thanks for the information! I was not aware of this article. Is there a way to order a copy of this article? (I am currently searching the NGS site, but so far haven't found a place where you can order copies from previous publications.) This could prove to be very helpful for those of us that have "early" family here! Thanks again. Thanks for the info. It is much appreciated.
Hi all, Below is a copy of an e-mail I received from a fellow FOREHAND researcher. Thought some Burke County researchers seeking McCREARY into might find it interesting. I believe this Forehand to be the son of either Drewry or Amos Forehand, brothers who came to Burke County in the early 1790's. They were sons of Solomon Forehand of Edgecombe County N.C. > TRAVELERS REST METHODIST EPISCOPAL CEMETERY PRIVATE, Macon County, GA > > Located just south of the city limits of Montezuma at the fork of County > road 84 & 22. What is the date of the issue? Phyllis

That won't work for me, I live in Idaho, NORTH Idaho. If someone gets a copy, maybe they could e-mail me a copy. I'd appreciate it very much. Lee
Is there anyone on the Burke Co. list who has the Article, willing to do look-ups? try the augusta library for getting the article. virginia
I have had several e-mails about where to get a copy of the article. I found it at our local Genealogy library. The Quarterly is pusblished by the National Genealogical Society. Dumont was a former president and was at one time the Editor of the Quarterly and lived in Augusta, GA. I would contact the NGS. I think they are in Washington, DC. (They used to be, at least.) Maybe your local library can get you a copy. Sandy
Re ordering from NGS: I really don't know, but I would think they would provide copies. I found a copy at our local Genealogy library. I tried calling the NGS one time and kept getting phone mail, but that might be worth a try. Sandy
Where can we get a copy? Lee
Additonal info on the Burke Co. article in National Genealogical Quarterly. Look for pages 3-54 in order to get all the info. There are such things as a list of wills probated in Jefferson Co. for Burke Co. residents. etc. Sandy
