    3. The names listed in the subject line are among those in my direct ancestral lines. Of course, there are many others in my file who are related in one way or another, such as Lanier, Bennett, Tallant and others. The Dicksons were from Robert Dickson and Susannah "Suky" Jones Dickson (daughter of Francis) of Upper St. Mathew Parish (current Screven County). Robert was b-1750 in South Carolina, d-1782 in Parish of St. Mathew. His son Allen, b-1782 in St. Mathew Parish, d-1845 in Bulloch County, was an interesting character. He "sold" his first wife, Martha Bonnell, back to her family in 1802, among other things! Allen then married Susannah Tallant, who was the first wife of James Hendricks. Allen and Susannah's oldest son, James, b-1806 in Bulloch County, d-1864 in Pierce County, moved around 1854, with his entire extended family, to the portion of Ware County that later became Pierce County. There the surname spelling was later changed to Dixon and there they remained almost exclusively, til I broke the chain and, as my grandmother used to say, derisively, "... was born 'up north' ... in Chatham County". My Boyettes of Bulloch were descended from Seth Boyette, b-abt 1794 in Screven County, d-abt 1875 near current Metter in Candler County. Many of his children, nieces and nephews were born in Bulloch County. My direct line of Boyettes ultimately moved to Pierce County, as did the Dixons, and changed their surname spelling by dropping the "e" on the end. Also, my 3ggrandmother, Jane Ammons was born in Bulloch County in 1805 to William Ammons and Elizabeth Tyson Ammons. They apparently lived in the area only a short time during a migration from the Carolinas southward to their ultimate settlement in old Wayne County (an area that's now Brantley County). I'm new to this particular list. Nice to be here! Sonny Dixon Savannah, Georgia
