    1. Nevils booklet - copyright concerns
    2. Hello listers. I'm the one offering emailed copies of a booklet written about Nevils Creek Primitive Baptist Church back in 1990, to commemorate the church's 200th anniversary. I was given a copy of the booklet by my husband's grandmother, and because it is a mini treasure trove of area history I thought it might help another Bulloch County researcher. Someone wrote to me today expressing concerns that I might be violating copyright laws by offering copies of this booklet to all of you. I want to stress in the strongest terms that I offered this booklet to help other genealogists, the way countless others have helped me. In no way have I profited from this, nor is it my intention to infringe on someone's copyright. Although I am not a copyright attorney or an expert in the field of copyright law, I don't think I'm violating the law - because this booklet was never published in book form, nor was it written for profit. It was distributed free to commemorate a church anniversary. I feel that I have as much right to share my copy of the booklet as my husband's grandmother had when she shared her copy with me. I don't think I'm violating the law any more than she was. I just wanted to address this, because of the concerns this individual had about a perceived violation. Kelli Mallard
