My line is ... Joseph Emanuel "Manning" Brown - James H. - Algerine - Leamon - Mary Jane - Me Thanks Again! Joey >> Hi Deb, and everyone else on the list. My cousin Joey Mimbs and I seem to be the only ones working on our particular line. I also would really like to connect with others who have an interest in our line. As Joey said, our line is: Joseph Emanuel (Manning; Marion) Brown; James H. Brown; Joey branches at Algerine, to Leamon, to Mary Jane. I branch off from James H. to Steven E, to my daddy Wallace Elzie. As a point of interest, we don't really know at this point what Joseph's middle name was. In the 1850 Emanuel County census, he is called Emanuel. In the 1860 Screven County census he is called Manning. And in the 1870 Bulloch County census he is called Marion. Seems he had lots of trouble settling on a middle name. An article in the Confederate Veteran Magazine, July-August 1992, dealing with his son, William Jasper Brown, identified him only as Joseph M(anning) Brown. Identity was provided by Mr. J. M. Rooks who was married to Pheriba Brown, daughter of Matthew Brown and Sarah Jane (Warnock) Brown, and granddaughter of Joseph. Joey and I will welcome any and all responses. Bill Brown
