Hi, The index in Mrs Registers book does not list anything if it is in alphabetical order, such as school records . In a list of marriages not previously recorded on page 231 ,the records shows Thomas J. Hart Vina Barnes 28 May 1868 Book 1808-1918 Pt. , 149 Amos Hart Jr. ```Jaa V. Newsome, 12 Feb.,1885 Book 4A page 261 Charlie Hart, Lillian McCroan, 15 Oct 1891 Book F. page 443 Daniel Hart, Emma Newton, 22 Nov 1894 Book G. page 183 George Hart Julia Kerby 13 Dec 1855 book 1808-1918 Pt. 1 page 148 George F. Hart Mary Kerby , 29 March 1866 book 1808-1918 pt.1 pg. 150 I know you did not ask for all of these, but since I was sending, thought I would include them all.. If you would like the ladies, I will be glad to scan the brides section for Hart names. Hope this helps, That book has saved me a lot of research time and I don't mind sharing. Lettye DuBois,
Lettye, what some great info!! I'm sure they are all related (I know Thomas, Amos Jr, George, Jeremiah are.) Does the book tell who Vina (really Lavina) Barnes' parents were? Also, I have info that says "Amos Hart (Sr) and Melberry Durden were married 11/21/1841 in Emanuel Co" but someone sent me an exert from Thomas Drew's estate in Emanuel Co and it say's "Administrators, son George M. Drew and son-in-law Amos P. Hart." I also found where Thomas and Melberry - 4/6/1824 (but I found her in a Thomas Drew family tree on RootsWeb.com that says she was born in 1819) are buried in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, 8 miles east of Statesboro. The two names, Drew and Durden aren't even close, I have even thought maybe Melberry was married to a Durden before Amos, what do you think about that idea? I wonder where Thomas' wife Rachel Oglesby is buried? Is there anything in the book about cemeteries in Bulloch Co? Buried in Poplar Springs Baptist Cemetery all in the same plot are: Thomas J Hart - 10/28/1850 - 3/13/1926 and Weatha(also found it spelled Weltha.)"wife of Thomas J. Hart - 8/22/1863 - 9/19/1939, and in the same plot with them is a stone that says "Nancy E - wife of T.J. (Thomas J?) Hart -3/17/1862 - 11/6/1897. I have found Thomas J listed as T.J. and Tom J Hart. Do you have anything on Nancy E? Thomas had a son, Willis Remer Hart that is also buried in that same cemetery. In a large plot there are: Willis R (Remer) Hart - 01/17/1878 - 11/14/1925, Mattie Elizabeth - 3/29/1884 - 8/16/1918 - wife of W.W.R. Hart (I have found some where William Willis Remer Hart) along with Mary Lewery, daug of WWR and ME Hart, 8/6/1918 - 8/6/1918 and Mollie Pauline, daug of WWR and ME Hart - 11/13/1913 - 2/26/1918 Any info is appreciated, Sheila ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lettye DuBois" <lduboise@bellsouth.net> To: <GABULLOC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2004 6:49 AM Subject: [GABULLOC] Hart marriages > Hi, > The index in Mrs Registers book does not list anything if it is in alphabetical order, such as school records . Sheila, The following information may offer some clues to the family of Lavinia barnes Hart. Although the age of Winey Barnes does not match the grave stone dates, it is possible that lavinia and Winey are the same person. Very few people living at that time knew their true ages, the 4 years difference can be reconsiledd.
