Carole, Estimated birth date for Laura M. WILLIAMS of 1844/1845 is based soley on the 1850 and 1860 Bulloch Co census. She was not with her mother, Roxy Ann (JOHNSON), and step-dad, James YOUNG, in the 1870 Bulloch Co census, thus she may well have married between 1860-1870. Thomas, Lavinia and son James YOUNG appear in the 6th Subdivision of Bulloch Co 1850 census as do Roxy and her two daughters, but not as immediate neighbors. That said, the WILLIAMS, EVERETTs, HUDSONs, YOUNGs are all interconnected. I have no clue where Laura went or whom she married. As to Laura's step-dad, he is identified as James YOUNG, Jr in the 1846 division of the estate of Washington WILLIAMS (1st spouse of Roxy Ann JOHNSON) where he is also noted as guardian of Laura and her sister, Mary. James YOUNG Sr appears with others distributing shares of the estate. ( Source: A. Register's "Bulloch Co GA Genealogical Source Material") (I suspect James YOUNG Sr is the same James YOUNG who frequently was involved in appraisals etc along with Sheppard WILLIAMS, father of Washington. The "Sr" and "Jr" may have been added to the Washington WILLIAMS estate division documents simply to differentiate between the two James YOUNGs rather than reflecting a father-son..) I don't know if this is going to help or just make the kettle boileth over.... million thanks for all the help Joni < I need to make a correction to the message about the daughter of Laura Williams and Thomas Young. Their only daughter to survive was named MARY THOMAS YOUNG. Mary Thomas Young married Daniel C. Ashley of Valdosta. That nformation came from the records of Dr. Parrish Blitch of Statesboro, GA. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg Drexel" <drexel410@charter.net> To: <JOANH954@aol.com>; <GABULLOC-L@rootsweb.com> Cc: <GASCREVE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 01, 2004 1:33 PM Subject: Re: [GABULLOC].
