My ggreatgrandfather, Thomas Gill, with brothers Robert and James were in Bulloch Co. as early as 1795 when they signed the petition to create Bulloch Co. They left in Jan., 1811 when they were issued passports to go west and settled in MS. We believe they were all married in that area since Thomas' oldest sons, David, born 1808 and James, born in 1809, were listed as being born in GA in later census data. The Passport shows him with wife and five children. James, Thomas' brother is shown with wife and seven children. Robert is shown only with his wife. Perhaps someone's family in that area may have records of their marriage into the Gill family before they left GA. We are trying to trace their birthplace, which we believe to be either North or South Carolina. All three were born between about 1700 and 1775.
