JOHN >> John, below are the children of John Clarke Davis and his wife Sarah Jane Mitchell Davis. Their children are my double cousins -- I am a direct descendant of Levi Davis and Susannah Bragg Davis (parents of John Clarke Davis) and Uriah Mitchell and his wife Elizabeth (parents of Sarah Jane Mitchell). They are all my GGG-grandparents. John C. Davis and Sarah Jane Mitchell Davis had a son William Daniel (Dan) Davis who was a blacksmith in Statesboro, GA and is buried in Eastside Cemetery. I published a family history (Mitchell Family) in 1994 that details these families. The "double" comes in through John Clark's sister Hester Davis who married William Wesley Mitchell, brother of Sarah Jane Mitchell. Hester and Wm. Wesley are my GG-Grandparents. I suspect brothers of John Clarke Davis may have been William (Willie) Shep Davis' father -- but I don't have enough information about those Davis lines to connect him to any of them.
