Hi Everyone, My name is Karen Hodges and several cousins and I are considering holding a Hodges Family Reunion. This reunion is open to all descendants of Joshua Hodges, Sr. and their families. The reunion is tentatively scheduled for a Saturday in June, in Statesboro. We would like to give you the opportunity for input. Please take a moment to respond to this email and answer the following questions. Please feel free to add any additional comments or suggestions you may have. This reunion is actually more short notice than it seems. We will be competing with Georgia Southern's Open House and weddings with regards to the availability of facilities in Statesboro in June. Please send your responses in a timely fashion so that I can go ahead and reserve a facility based on the number of people who say they will be attending. Once I get a good feel for which date and format will work best, I will send out another email with the details of the reunion so you can mark your calendars. ( you can select more than one ) Saturday, June 3, 2000 Saturday, June 17, 2000 Saturday, June 24, 2000 ** I have not included June 10 for several reasons, the foremost being that Georgia Southern is hosting an Open House June 5-9. Lodging might be limited since visitors may stay over the weekend starting June 10. ** There is also an Open House scheduled for June 28-29. I'm not sure if this would affect lodging starting June 24 or not, but probably not. ** Father's Day is Sunday, June 18. Would that prevent you from attending on Saturday, June 17? 3) Would you like the gathering to be centered around a lunch? a) If yes, which of the following options would you be in favor of? potluck ( may be difficult for those traveling ) catered ( pre-payment would be required ) each family brings their own picnic b) If no, would you be in favor of having everyone bringing a dessert instead of having a lunch, or would you rather have no food at all? 4) If a lunch is desired, what time would you want the lunch to start? 12:30 PM 1:00 PM 5) If desserts only are desired ( or no food at all ), what time would you want the gathering to start? 1:00 PM 1:30 PM 2:00 PM 6) Do you have any suggestions for a facility in Statesboro where the reunion could be held? ** Someone suggested the Sr. Citizen's Complex and it is available June 17 and June 24. This facility is new and carpeted and holds up to 100 people. It has round tables. There is access to kitchen facilities, bathrooms and a playground. The Civic Room was also suggested. It is only available June 3. 7) Do you have any ideas for activities? 8) Would you be interested in "field trips" to the cemeteries, Union Methodist Church, or other places? 9) Do you have any additional ideas or suggestions?
