I am looking for any information on a Henry BACON who married my aunt Belle BACON HODGES after her first husband, Henry Hudson HODGES, died in April 1930. The only info I have to go on is a 1939 family group photo taken at the 50th wedding anniversary (near Nevils, Bulloch Co.) of my grandparents, Perry Morgan HODGES and Mittie Eugenia BANKS HODGES. Henry BACON and Belle BACON HODGES BACON were identified in this photo by an elderly family member. (In this photo Henry BACON looks to be anywhere between late 40's to late 50's or early 60's.) Henry BACON may have been born in the late 1870's to possibly the early 1890's and may have been deceased by the 1950's. He was possibly a widower when he married Belle sometime between 1930 and 1939. I believe he was from Bryan or Bulloch County. Belle was born abt. 1897 (probably in Bulloch Co.) and was living in Bryan Co. when a widow. I believe Belle died in the 1960's and is reported to be buried at DeLoach's Church, but I have not located a grave for her. Will appreciate any help. Kathy Hodges McElveen

I found the following on an Indiana American Revolution website. http://www.geocities.com/sdfranklin_1999/inssar_cem-project.html The contact person's name is Stephen Franklin, whose email is below. I believe that this Hanna could be a key to show where some of our brick walls might have migrated to when they disappeared from southern South Carolina and Georgia after the American Revolution. It is full of all kinds of American Revolution service for many names familiar to Georgia, and worth a look. It shows that the battle of Cowpens was fought 'at his uncle Joseph Hanna's plantation' My interest in Mary Parks is some kind of connection between the Henderson family and the Parks and Burroughs family, c. early 1800's. The website has the picture of the gravestones for Robert Hanna and his wife, Mary Parks Hanna. I do know that a Martha Hanna(h) married a Daniel Henderson c. 1820 around Screven County, GA, and then Daniel died, and Martha remarried. If anyone has any further information about the relationships of these families, please post. Thank you, Carole Drexel drexel410@charter.net IN Memory of ROBERT HANNA Was born Decr 10th 1744 And departed this life The 24th of January 1821 He was A brave defender Of his Country's Rights And lived and died an honest Man HANNA, ROBERT Born--Dec. 10, 1744, Prince Edwards Co., Virginia. The following is from: ROSTER OF SOLDIERS AND PATRIOTS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION BURIED IN INDIANA, compiled and edited by Mrs. Roscoe C. Information collected by Mrs. Elnora P. Campbell, Liberty, Indiana.
Nancy, I want to add to the Upper Mill Creek Cemetery. The Graves of Willie Mae Williams Crosby and Douglas Leroy Crosby have a shared stone. Since she surveyed this cemetery an addition was added to their grave stone On the back is written. This Is Our Mother, then our names, then on the other side Though Not our Father Thru Birth He Was Our Father thru Love. Douglas Crosby was our step father. The children all had different last names. Carolyn Jones, Donna Jones, James Hugh Taylor, Sonja Mae Taylor, Alma Angela Williams, Wilson Wendell Williams Dennis W. Williams. The family added this addition because people have added me and my siblings names to genealogy records as Crosby. James Coleman wrote a book and even though he is a cousin added us as Crosbys. Most of the people in this cemetery are related to me. Willie Mae Williams Crosby was the daughter of Willie O. Williams and Mary Brannen Williams. One or more of these Lees made it to Georgia, though I'm early into my research, and haven't made the connection, yet, to our Lees, of which I'm related through both my parents. Sherry: While you are working on the Lee's... if you run across a Joseph H. Lee b. Jul. 31, 1868 and d. Feb. 9, 1900 (& buried in Lyons, Ga (Toombs Co.)..who maried Harriett Elizabeth Milton from Bulloch Co. I have been searching to find out who his parents are... I've been told he was born in SC but have no proof..and he also lived in Bulloch Co. at one time... Bonnie...I'm not sure of the source but have been told that Amy Jones the wife of Preston Wise was a daughter of James Jones and Nancy Delk...(not proven) Preston is a 4th Great Uncle of mine... Charles

Good luck, Sherry
Thanks Sherry, Am interested in the Jones because my ggg grandmother Ann Jones married Preston Wise in 1808 in Bulloch County and I do not have any information on her.
