My apology was as public as I could make it for two reasons: (1) to set the record straight that you deserve all the credit for the Bell research (2) to embarrass me publicly as punishment to let you know the sincerity of my apology (and to let you know that while I blundered, I did not intentionally inflict pain) Sharlotte [email protected] wrote: > My apologies to all of you on the lists, for what "was" a private matter, > exposed on the wrong forum. > > "Usually the greatest boasters are the smallest workers. 1. [GABULLOC] Explanation & Apology--MAJOR MISTAKE--Please read!
    2. Tom Donnelly and Sharlotte Neely
    3. Hi, Sherry and everyone, You will note, Sherry, that I am sending a copy of my replies (this is part one of four or more) to the Bulloch County, Georgia and Bryan County, Georgia genealogy lists so that the maximum number of those affected will be notified. You emailed me on June 7th that I had submitted your Bell family data to LDS without your permission. My first reaction was an honest one. I said I did not do that, and I thought I was correct in saying that. As you know, my mother-in-law died (an awful fight with brain cancer) the day after you emailed me, and I said I would get back to you after I had finished my obligations and mourning surrounding her death. I have now caught up with my email and will answer as promised. I thought you were mistaken since I "knew" I had not submitted your data. I was wrong. I have two genealogy files on my computer. One with information no one has a problem with being public and a second one that also contains (1) your working data and (2) my husband's uncle's (his mother's brother's) family data which is complete but which he never wants to be made public, even to other close family (he feels everyone should have to go through the research independently without help, that hard work will do them good). In the second file, I also put theories, speculations, anything to research further. Well, I goofed big time. I submitted the wrong file. (I am still trying to understand how I could have made such a blunder.) I must, therefore, apologize to you and to my husband's uncle. ( I confess that with my husband's uncle I may wait a few more weeks to tell him since he is devastated by my mother-in-law's--his sister's--death.) I will check again, but even my second file should credit you with all the research. I want to preserve, not take credit for, your research. For some of the data (the Shivers Swamp story, for example), you should also see my late grandmother, Nevada McClelland Bell, credited, as well as the Georgia Archives. Hopefully, in contacting the Bulloch and Bryan lists, everyone will be clear the research is yours. (Let me know who else you want me to contact.) Hopefully, you will believe my sincere apology and that I made a real--if horribly painful--mistake in submitting your working data to LDS. I hope you will check to see that even though it should not be there at all, that you are credited with the work. Someday I hope you will submit your finished data since it will be more complete and obviously the ultimate research on the Bells. Thanks, Sharlotte Kathleen Bridgette Neely Donnelly [email protected] [email protected] wrote: > Sharlotte, > Our hearts and prayers have been with you and Tom since the moment that we > were notified about Tom's mother. 1. [GABULLOC] One time response to emails received
    2. In response to questions, and this will be my final, online, response to all of the emails that I am receiving. This matter was not about names, dates and data that we all share with each other. This was about a private mini biography that I composed, including quotes from family members that was presented to an elderly aunt on her 86th Birthday, last October. It was copied to the name that you have, unfortunately, seen so frequently on your screens today, with the note that it was for family only. Please, let this be the end of it. Thank you

    1. [GABULLOC] HODGES Reunion!
    2. Hello All! Well we are now less than one month away from the highly-anticipated HODGES reunion! I have really lost count of who all is coming or not coming. Plus I know that plans change, so some of you may have changed your minds. The purpose of this email is to touch base with everyone and get a good idea of who all is coming. I would ask that you take a minute or two and answer the following questions for me. I am going to snail mail a flyer out within the next week with all the information and directions and such. Quick reminder: The reunion is Saturday, June 24 in Statesboro. It will begin at noon and attendees are asked to bring their own picnic lunch. 1. What is your mailing address? ( for the flyer ) 2. Will you be able to attend the reunion and if so, how many will be in your group? 3. Remind me again of your direct line on down from Joshua Hodges, SR. 4. If you have told anyone by word of mouth about the reunion and you would like a flyer mailed to them, please give me their name and address. Also, if you already know they are coming or not coming, please let me know. If you will not be able to attend the reunion, OR if you have ended up on this list by accident and have no idea who the Hodges are, OR you are simply not interested, please let me know as well. I would like to get the flyer out ASAP, so please respond as soon as you can. I also need a head count for any materials that might be distributed at the reunion. Well I hope you all will be able to make it and I look forward to meeting everyone! Karen Hodges

    1. [GABUL] Re: Anderson Woods
    2. Hi Pat, I received some Hendrix and Woods information via snail mail today. William Anderson Woods b. 28 Nov 1839 Bulloch Co., GA married Annie Newton. Children: William, male b. 1866 Alcester ?, sex unknown b. 1868 Homer, male, b. 1872 Thomas, male b. 1876 I think the listing for the second child may be Alice Woods, because 1868 is the birth year I show for her. There are no spouses listed for Anderson's children. Maybe someone else on the list can confirm whether Alice was his daughter or not. Hope this helps, Deb Does anyone have a list of the children of Anderson Woods b. about 1840, son of Joshua Woods of Bulloch County. Any help would be appreciated. Pat R.
