Selma, it might be possible that he was from Screven Co. or Tattnall County, originally from the Augusta, GA, Beach Island, SC area. There is alot of bantering back and forth on the [email protected] list as well as some fellow Greene researchers on the [email protected] list. If I come across any specific info on Lewis Green, I will forward. It is not my line, but sometimes I feel like ALL the Greene's were at some point. (Just kidding, of course, but there are so many loose ends, aaaahhhgggg!). Hi, Does anyone have any information on Louis/Lewis Green/e. I found Lewis m. Elizabeth Pridgen in 1825 but nothing more about them. I found a Lewis in 1820 census for Lewis but nothing more on him. They are not the same Lewis and I would love to find more information on either. Thanks, Selma
A Thomas Beasley married Susannah Jones (widow of Stirring/Sterling Brinson) about 1780 in Onslow Co, NC. About 1793, this Thomas Beasley moved to Burke Co., GA in area that later became Jefferson Co. Is this Thomas Beasley father to Thomas Beasley ( cir 1760-1829) who settled in Screven and Bulloch Co, GA? Sterling Brinson and Susannah Jones had daughter, Phariby. Is it likely that Phariby, wife of Thomas Beasley is Phariby Brinson? Children of Thomas Beasley seem to possibly be named for children of Sterling Brinson and Susannah Jones. Also, Phariby Beasley (Beezley) was member of Nevils Creek Primitive Baptist Church in 1814. And Land Transactions for Thomas Beasley and Phariby after the date of Thomas Beasley's marriage to Mary "Polly" Brinson has me wondering about who is the mother of the children of Thomas Beasley, as it appears that Phariby was probably alive until at least 1814. Can anyone shed any light on any of these mysteries? Dot Baker
I am trying to sort out information on Baker Family that moved to Bulloch Co -- Brooklet -- between 1906 to 1910. The family I am searching for is that of Thomas Baker and Catherine Goodman. Thomas and Catherine had a number of children who all seemed to have married in or near Bulloch Co. Looking for anyone connected to the following families: 1) Bessie Baker married Lawton Bruner. I think that Bessie might be Catherine Baker. Would like to know of descendants and where Lawton Bruner and Bessie Baker are buried. 2) Boyce/Boice Baker married Mary C. Boyce and likely Mary C are buried at Corinth Leefield in my Baker Family Plot. Would like to know who Mary C. was and when she died. Also their descendants. 3) Sallie Levisa Baker (Levicy) married Henry Davis in 1915 in Bulloch Co. Who is this Henry Davis and where this couple went. Did they remain in the Bulloch Co area? Who are their descendants? Where are they buried? 4) D. Paul Baker married Sallie Hall in Bulloch Co in 1916. I knew of Paul Baker to be living in Kissimmee, Florida. Would like to know when he died and where he and Sallie are buried. Also, their descendants? 5) Mattie Lee Baker married Roy S. Laird? Where did they end up? Where are they buried? Descendants? 6) Lyla Baker married Claude Morris (son of John Eugene Morris and Minnie Cornelia Davis) Would like to know where they ended up, their descendants, where they are buried. Thomas Baker was uncle to Julius Elmore Baker who lived and died in Brooklet, but his wife, Catherine Goodman was half-sister to Julius Elmore Baker. Their mother, Levisa Salley (Young) Baker moved with her family to Brooklet area before 1910 -- probably after 1906. Levisa Baker, Julius Elmore Baker and wife, Lucretia (Davis) Baker are all buried at Corinth Leefield Cemetery. Dot Baker -- granddaughter of Julius Elmore Baker and Lucretia Davis
Apologize for the delay in getting this information to you, however, when you move you open up the most important boxes first. Anyway, In checking the 1870 Census for Bulloch County, GA I have found the following AFRO AMERICANS: Mincey, Alexander 50 Young, Ann 35 " Louisa 45 Oliff 8 " Berry 17 Selnon 6 " Elais 15 Ella 2 " Cealy 12 Joseph " Blount 10 " Harriet 8 Young, Handy 45 Young, Patients 40 Mincey, Andrew 30 " Lila 23 " Mary Ann 3 " James N. 2 Mincey, Andrew 10/12 Lawson, Mitchell (No listing for Lawton) Charlotte Jane Perry Fannie Missouri Hendricks, Little John 52 Margaret 40 Rachel 16 LaVinia 15 Charles 14 Andrew 12 Ellen 11 Mezel 9 Thomas 7 Hendicks, Randall 2 I did not find a listing for Howard, Bailey, Kittles, Roberson or Gordon for the 1870 Census. This does not mean that they would not necessarily be in the 1880. HOpe that you are able to find an ancestor among the aforementioned names. Nay Miles
Have reviewed "Bulloch COunty, Georgia Genealogical Source Material" by Alvaretta Kenan Register and located no marriage between Isham Elerbee and Mary Denmark. I did find a notation on page 97 of her book that it was "Ordered that Jesse Elerbee be appointed guardian of Allen Elerbee, orphan of Isham Elerbee, dec'd in lieu of David Lastingertr, who is discharged from the guardianship of said orphan. No mention of the mother's name. There are several other notations about Isham in the book but nothig on his marriage to anyone. YOu may need to check on Marriage bonds during that time period. Under Wills & Miscellaneous Estate Records p. 165, Nov 9, 1812, Granted Citation to Allen Brown for letters Admr. on estats of Isham Ellerby. dec'd. [His name is spelled various ways here] Re: Thompson marriages - Can you be more specific about the first name of the Thompsons that you are looking for. Nay Miles

I am searching for my GG-Gparents and hope some of you can help. My G-Gfather was JAMES ALFRED JONES, b.22 Feb 1832, Bulloch Co, Ga, d. 26 Dec 1886, Manatee Co, Fl. A family Bible said "SIMEON JONES was born in N.Y., married NANCY DRIGGERS; they are the parents of James Alfred Jones". James went on to Fl and married SARAH PATIENCE RAWLS, had 14 children and both are buried in Manatee Co, Fl. I have not been able to identify which NANCY DRIGGERS this is, nor have I found anything putting the two together. Would appreciate any feedback or help. Would really like to meet some new cousins!!!! Thanx, Graham Jones
Does anyone know of this company and does it still exist? My great uncle worked there. Linda
Hi List, Just got a breakthrough on my Willie/William Mixon b. 1842. Evidently I have more than likely had the wrong middle initial (T) for him. I received a death certificate today of his son, Charles and his parents are listed as W. L. Mixon b. SC. and Miss Lizzie Thomas b. SC. Does anyone have W. L. Mixon and Lizzie Thomas Mixon in their family history? Linda
I quickly looked at my data base and found a Edward Mincey who married a Eloise Donaldson. Eloise is the daughter of Warner Donaldson, granddaughter of George Donaldson and great granddaughter of Andrew and Clory Donaldson. This goes back to early 1800'. I also found a Herbert Lawton who was married to a Bessie Parrish who was the daughte of William Henry "Doc" Parrish, granddaughter of Moses and Isabelle (Donaldson) Parrish and great granddaughter of Cain and Isabella Parrish. Unfortunately, my research has yet to take me beyond the early 1800s. Four of Cain and Isabella Parrish's children married four of Andrew and Clory Donaldson's children. THey in turned married Riggs (They own a funeral business in Bulloch still), Cones, Lees, Birds, Halls, Munlins, McCrays. etc. Are these relatives of yours? Nay Miles
I suggest that you continue to search the files at the local Fammily History Center (FHC) and look at all census files that you can find. Don't ingnore the agricultural census - lots told there. When you cannot find any more information in the federal files, start with the county and state. I have had much success locating both sides of my family this way. My problems are dealign with the :"living" they are quite "closed mouth". The ones who share are not the direct line and are limited in knowledge. Bulloch County Library has a wonderful genealogy section and contain lots info on all local people who submit information on their famillies. Look for books by Alvanette K. Register and you will be able to locate a lot of information on marriages, probates, etc. I have talked with the Libarian there and have even visited it last year. A mother lode of information if ever there was one. I purchased the 1870 and 1880 Census and keep it close by. Worth the investmet! Also keep in mind that boundary lines changed a tad and what may have been in Bulloch may really be in Calder, or other surrounding counties. Keeping searching. It is there. Quite simply. I am an African American and am interested in hearing from ANY researcher on this list who can help me in my genealogical quest. My ancestors on both sides of my family are from the Bulloch County area, and I know that I have many relatives currently living in the area. However, I know of none who are actively involved in searching their roots. My parents ( Both are living. Mom is 76, and Dad is 84.) have given me as much information as they can. The surnames they gave me were Maternal -- HOLMES, HOWARD, BAILEY, KITTLES,YOUNG Paternal---HENDRIX, LAWTON, MINCEY.HOWARD,ROBERSON, GORDON Thank you

The children John, William, Jr. and Sarah where living in Screven/Bulloch counties between 1805 and 1836. George Thomas Green Cove Springs, FL

I purchased Alvanetta's book and it has a chapter on Marriages. I will check and see if the dates that you are looking at are included. It will take me a little time but I will let you know what I find for the names that you requested. Nay Miles
