    2. I wonder if any of the Dutton descendants might share, if known, the cause of death of Henry and his youngest daughter Martha.  It is curious that Martha died on June 25, 1851 and her father, Henry, two days later, on June 27, 1851. - - - - - - - - - - Sherry, Not to suggest anything positive but the country experienced a severe Influenza epidemic in 1850-51. It's possible they succumbed to the effects of that. Bill Brown

It is curious that Martha died on June 25, 1851 and her father, Henry, two days later, on June 27, 1851. Also, would the following information be for John Wesley Dutton, son of Henry and Mary Wilson Dutton? Per Muster Roll of Company 1, 9th Regiment [Toomb's Guard], Georgia Volunteer Infantry, C.S.A., Bulloch Co. GA. John W. Dutton, Private, June 10, 1861, Deserted to enemy, Savannah, GA., March 26, 1865. Took oath of allegiance to U.S. Gov't., [there] March 27, 1865. (W.R.). 1. [GABULLOC] Burial Cards 1917- Mixon
    2. Can anyone tell me where the old burial cards from Hodges-Turner Funeral Home disappeared to? I need to find out where William/Willie (W. T.?) Mixon was buried in 1917 and it is my understanding that this is the funeral home that he would have been buried out of back then. Rumor has it that he is buried in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro, but I cannot find him. I talked to a lady at the funeral home yesterday and she said that she does not know what happened to the old burial records. Please Help!! Linda

Wish that I had a nickle for every mile that I walked on the beach there, preferred the winter months when it was quiet and empty. Used to be a great place, like a small fishing village, where everyone knew each other and they could afford to pay their taxes. :-))

    2. After not having received any responses to my postings for information, I went back to the "saved" emails of the past couple of days from Jackie and Al, and utilizing books that I have, together with information from my files, the following information is what I've come up with. I welcome any additional information or corrections. 1. Ann Theresa2 Cox [daughter of Spencer Cox and Mary Ryall] was born November 14, 1800 in Bryan Co., GA, and died October 02, 1880 in Bryan Co., GA. Per the Bulloch Co Marriage Book 2A, page 127, Miss Ann Cocks (sic) [believe name should be Cox] married Henry Dutton, however no date was recorded. [[email protected] notes a marriage date of 06 February 1845, and also notes birth date for Henry Dutton as; 1789 and date of death as June 27, 1851 in Bulloch Co. Also noted is a birth and death date for Henry's 1st wife, Mary Ann Wilson; b. January 1800 d. February 10, 1843 in Bulloch Co] Per the Bulloch Co Marriage Book 2A, page 12, Henry Dutton married (1st wife) Mary Wilson on January 21, 1818, by Enoch Fagan, J.P. Notes for Ann Theresa Cox: Ann Cox Dutton, per 1880 Bryan Co census, lived out her last years with the Emmett Downs family of Bryan Co GA. Ann Cox Dutton and Sarah Hickman Downs were half- sisters, Sarah and Barrett Downs were the parents of Emmett Thomas Downs. More About Ann Theresa Cox: Burial: Little Creek Cemetery, Ft Stewart, GA Per the 1850 Bulloch Co. census, Dwelling/Family 19, Henry Dutton, age 61, a carpenter, born in Massachusetts, was living with his 2nd wife, Ann [Cox] age 49, born in Georgia, and the children of her husband, Henry, and his 1st wife, Mary Ann Wilson (name provided by) [email protected]/com). Children: Joseph.. age 24, Andrew.. age 21, William.. age 19, Mary.. age 15, John Wesley.. age 13, Overton.. age 10, and Martha.. age 7. Per [email protected] the children were as follows: Samuel Dutton b. abt 1821 in Bulloch Co James Dutton b. abt 1824 in Bulloch Co Andrew Joseph Dutton b. August 01, 1825 in Bulloch Co and d. August 06, ? in Bulloch Co. William Dutton b. abt 1831 Mary E. Dutton b. August 01, 1823 in Bulloch Co and d. August 17, 1864 in Bulloch Co John Wesley Dutton b. abt 1837 Overton Dutton b. March 19, 1840 in Bulloch Co and d. February 05, 1902 in Bulloch Co Martha Dutton b. January 28, 1842 in Bulloch Co and d. June 25, 1851 in Bulloch Co Many thanks to Jackie and Al for their help, for extractions from their email postings. to GABULLOCH. and to the, excellent, records of Bulloch Co. GA. I do have a question though, regarding Andrew Joseph Dutton, who was listed in 1850 census as two individuals; Joseph 24 and Andrew 21. Apparently Samuel and James, being "of age" were no longer living with the family in 1850.
