Does anyone know the directions to the Brannen cemetery "located just south of the road between Statesboro and Upper Lotts Creek Church and beyond Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church from Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia" Thank you.............Evelyn
Does anyone know anything about Lavinia Banks b. ABT 1850 in Bulloch or Bryan County? 1870 Bulloch Co. census (p209) shows Lavinia Banks, WF 20, domestic servant, living w/Cuyler Banks family. NOTES: 1. Lavinia did not appear earlier in Cuyler's household and because of the occupation listed, it is suspected that Lavinia's surname may not be Banks. 2. The Bryan Co. 1860 census shows a Lavinia Banks, WF 9, living w/parents who were Elisha Banks & Sarah. Source: research by Ray H. Banks on RootsWeb World Connect Project, Banks Families. George Flake recently provided me with some census info(1850) on Jacin Floyd(Floyed) for which I am very grateful. However I have not been able to make connections to my Eady Floyd born 1830 married to Elbert MT Smith about 1848. The only clues I have are some handwritten notes in Folks Huxford's files that say"Austin Floyd JP at Jessup, bro. to Mrs Eady Smith:also Bill and Mary Floyd. Her 1/2 kin were Nancy, Henry, and Allen Floyd. Jason Floyd b. 1808 father of these in Bulloch county 1850" Could Jacin, Jason have been married more than once- His marriage to Jane Waters in 1834 would make it unlikely that she was Eady's mother, Eady having been born in 1830. I'm wondering if Eady and Austin could have been from an earlier marriage? does anyone have access to earlier census records 1840, 1830?? In Bulloch county. or maybe Pierce? Ludell Solomon
Kathy, I have no information regarding Mitie Eugenia Banks. I have been searching for information on the sister of Simeon Callaway Banks, Maggie F. Banks, and their parents. Maggie and her husband Ezra N. Waters are my great uncle and aunt. The following information is all I have on Ezra and Maggie. I would appreciate obtaining any information that you might have. 1900 Bulloch County, Georgia Census, 1547 Emit District, Sheet 10, Line 87: Waters, Ezra N. head August 1868 31 m. 7 yrs. farmer Maggie F. wife June 1861 48 (38?) Arnie son Dec. 1895 4 "Births, Marriages and Deaths From Bulloch County, Georgia, Newspapers, 1889-1916, Volume I", Page 38. Issue of July 18, 1902, Died - Mrs. Martha Banks at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ezra Waters, last week. She was the mother of Mr. Simeon Banks of the Sinkhold district, and about 74 years old. Source: Bulloch County, Georgia Marriage Record Book G, page 47: E. N. Waters married Maggie F. Banks on April 6, 1893 in Bulloch County. Ezra N. Waters is the oldest son of George W. Waters and Pharisee Rushing of Bulloch County, Georgia. They are all buried in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Statesboro, Georgia along with other members of their family.. I only said it MIGHT BE a part of the Moravian Society of Ohio which was a germanic separatist Christian sect who followed the simple life like the Amish and Mennonites. The Czech Republic was the former Moravia... The Moravians are one of the oldest peoples in Europe, and Moravia is one of Europes earliest settled lands. The first recorded references to the Moravians dates from AD 822, when Moravian emissaries visited Emperor Louis the Pious in Frankfurt. The ancestors of the Moravians were descended from Slavic tribes who settled in Pannonia and the Morava River Basin, as well as from members of warrior societies (called the Moravians) who migrated from Northern Persia to the Danube River Basin towards the end of the 7th century. Moravians used their name to denominate the land they were later to glorify. The leaders and chiefs of these warrior groups produced a princely and royal dynasty later on, here called the dynasty of the Mojmírs. It was during the reign of these kings in the 9th century that Moravia reached its greatest height, earning it the name found in the work of the Byzantine emperor Constantine Porphyrogennetos Great Moravia. - [Published in 1998 by the Moravian National Congress, Zelný trh 6/8, 602 00 Brno, Moravia- Czech Republic, as presentational material for the Moravian delegation on the occasion of the All-Slavic Congress in Prague.] <http://www.hsms.cz/moravia.htm> >From: "Cynthia Forde" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [GABULLOC] Zoar Mission >Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 22:59:00 -0600 > >I believe someone identified it as Moravian.
