Hi Gerald, If you ever find this land please let me know. I would appreciate it. Bonnie
I forgot to mention that I have this newspaper item/photo scanned and can email it if anyone is interested. Let me know. Jeanette, just to clarify.....John S. Denmark is buried at Eastside. Is Beulah J. Anderson Phillips Denmark buried there also, or at the Anderson Cemetery near Emit? Also, is this Roxie Lanier, wife of James W. Denmark, the daughter of Augustus Lanier? If I am reading the marriage announcement correctly......the mother, Beulah J. Anderson Phillips must have married a Denmark. (That's what initially threw me off track in finding the parents of Beulah Leona Phillips. Also, Beulah J. Anderson and John W.(Wiley) Phillips had a daughter named Alva. Could she be the daughter shown as "Mary A."(b. 1899), or is this another daughter. My sources on this are: From "Births, Marriages and Deaths From Bulloch County, Georgia, Newspapers, 1905-1915, Vol. II": 1. The Bulloch Times Issue of Thursday, April 10, 1913: Memoriam - Mr. P.E. Phillips died Feb. 20, 1913, aged 58. He left a wife, one son and four grandchildren. He was buried at Middleground Church (written by his granddaughters, Verda and Alva Phillips) 2. From "Births, Marriages and Deaths From Bulloch County, Georgia, Newspapers, 1916-1923, Vol. III": Bulloch Times Issue of Thursday, February 1, 1917: Obituary - John Wiley Phillips was born Sept. 24, 1874 and died Sept. 6, 1916. He was the only child of Pharis and Macy Phillips. He married Miss Beulah J. Anderson on July 4, 1897 and to them were born five girls. Thanks for everyone's help/input on this family so far. There is another book other than "Once Upon a Time" written about the Kennedys. It was written-I think-by a Kennedy. I believe a Judge. Does anyone know anything about his book and if it can be purchased anywhere? Brenda
In checking further in our books on this area, I find that there is a book on the Willie community which has John Butler 1830-1895. There is no mention of Jesse; John has a son Jefferson. Also, I have a lot of notes from a John Butler descendant but haven't really been through them enough to know what is there. If this would be of any help, we will be glad to look more. jdh ----- Original Message ----- From: "george hendrix" <ghendrix@catt.com> To: <GABULLOC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 12, 2004 1:26 PM Subject: Re: [GABULLOC] Re: GABULLOC-D Digest V04 #7 > Sorry, didn't find any Butlers in the Taylors Creek book. jdh > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <ChasJones7@aol.com> > To: <GABULLOC-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Monday, January 12, 2004 11:48 AM > Subject: [GABULLOC] Re: GABULLOC-D Digest V04 #7 > > > > Does this book on Taylors Creek that is being mentioned have any > information > > about the Butler Families of Liberty County (Jesse Butler in particular)? > > Charles > > > > > > ============================== > > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial. Does this book on Taylors Creek that is being mentioned have any information about the Butler Families of Liberty County (Jesse Butler in particular)? Charles
Without more help from the list on this, all I can tell you now is that I believe all three of these families (Floyd, Phillips, Denmark) lived in Bulloch Co. or adjacent counties. That 1795 Deed to William Wise is what gave me the start at locating it...John A. Martin was my gggg-grandfather, and unfortunately, there were other John Martins in GA around that time (one who became Governor without using his middle name or initial), casuing a lot of confusion, because folks did not do a thorough enough research job in the past, and attributed the wrong one to the wrong family...now there is a lot of mis-information which seems to procreate itself... Hopefully, with all of us aware of this situation, we will be able to straighten out the mess... >From: "Bonnie Gay" <bfwgay@frontiernet.net> >Reply-To: GABULLOC-L@rootsweb.com >To: GABULLOC-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [GABULLOC] Ironmonger's Creek Date: Sun, 11 Jan 2004 21:44:17 >-0500 > >This land is located on Hi 24 out from Statesboro about 9 to 10 miles. I have just looked at my 1909 map and found Iron Munger northeast of Brooklet (just under Brooklet 1523 G.M.). Are there two? I didn't see Ironmonger...however, the old eyes aren't what they once were! This land is located on Hi 24 out from Statesboro about 9 to 10 miles. My third great grandfather owned this land bought from John Martin in 1795.
