Bob, My ggrandfather, William DUKES (B 1801) was married to Ann DUGGER (b 1796). She was also married to a Jeremiah HAYMANS, and had two children, William and Mary Ann. William and Ann had 5 children, one of whom was my grandmother Caroline DUKES. Caroline (1804-1901) married James Calvin MARSH (1823-1899) ON 2/4/1850; however, she first married James Henry CLANTON (1824-1908) in 1840. Don't know the story about why the married/why they divorced? or what happened, but I have a lot of Clanton's in my files. Caroline is buried in the Hendrix Cemetery in Statesboro, GA.
