Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know about a site called "Find a Grave" at: http://www.findagrave.com It's a virtual cemetery. Everyone can add photos, biographies, and cemetery locations of loved ones. It is becoming a great, free resource, but it needs more contributions to grow. Thanks, Sharlotte Neely Donnelly
I have information on Obidiah Thomas BLITCH b. 15 Sept. 1844 m. Valerie Odum. Is this the person you're researching? Maureen ----- Original Message ----- From: Carl Jarrard <cjarrard@earthlink.net> To: <GAEFFING-L@rootsweb.com> > From: STaylor <RSTaylor@ij.net> > Query=OBIDIAH THOMAS BLITCH

BIRD/DASHER CORRECTION: Previous data purported that: Ann Bird, daughter of James Robeson Bird, married Christian Dasher, Jr. on 30 June 1801. This is not likely, because Ann Bird daughter of James Robeson Bird "was born in 1807, 6 years AFTER the marriage." Fact 1: Ann Bird b. 02 Sept 1778, daughter of Israel Robeson Bird and Anna Stafford, married Christian Dasher, Jr. b. 1778 on 30 June 1801, Fact 2 (new): Ann Dasher, wife of Christian Dasher, Jr., died 02 June 1852 "in the 74th year of her age" Christian Dasher, Jr. died 06 Oct 1842 and both are interred at Dasher Cemetery, Old Field of Mrs. Malcolm Rahn in Effingham Co., GA Ann BIRD DASHER, daughter of Israel & Anna BIRD, died on 02 June 1852! Ann BIRD, daughter of James Robeson BIRD and granddaughter of Israel Robeson BIRD, died 20 Sep 1843. Hope this is helpful - Maureen
Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000 is set for the Fall Cemetery Outing on Ft. Stewart. We will be attending the opening ceremonies of the Veteran's Wall at Trent Field. Cemeteries to be visited are: 1. J.E. Moody Cemetery 2. Congregational Oak Grove Cemetery 3. Smith Chapel 4. Smith Gap of the Bay Cemetery This will be a full day outing. Be at Club Stewart at 9:00 A.M. sharp, when we will be loaded on buses. Lunch will be catered, and it is $4.50 per person...(or bring your own). It is important to let Public Affairs know if you are attending, so that they can reserve lunch for you. Call (912) 767-5688 by next Tuesday morning. They will have us back at Club Stewart by 3:00 P.M. This is also a good time for us to get to visit with one another. Hope to see some of you there. Carolyn Jarrard
Hi everyone: Just wondering if there was a Clyde or Cemetery Day in Fort Stewart this year. If there was a notice advertising it in the newspaper I missed seeing it. I would really like to visit my family's cemeteries, and setting aside the time to go on Cemetery Day would be a good way to get myself to do it. Is there a set time of the year for the day. If so, I would like to put it on my calendar for next year so I won't forget it. Mary Exley

From: iwojimajoe@myfamily.com Date: Sun, 01 Oct 2000 19:33:48 -0700 Subject: George Wiley Futch Do you perhaps have a copy of the 1900 census for Bryan County? If so, we're looking for the parents of George Wiley Futch, b. 2/8/1881. He was married to my grandfather's sister. Would appreciate any help you can give. RB
We have a photo page of old people of Bryan County started on our Bryan County site. This is a great idea, because there are many descendants of these old people out there, and I am sure they would love to see what their ancestors looked like. If you have any photos to submit, you may scan them in and send as an attached file and I will FTP them to the site at Rootsweb. If you cannot do that, then snail mail a copy and I will be happy to scan in for you. A short note about who they are and dates or anything interesting about them would be nice. Am looking for information on the burial site known as WELLS Family Cemetery supposedly in Hinesville, Gum Branch, or in that area. A passage in a book about my heritage of the WELLS and GROOVER lines mentions my great-grandparents as having lived next to the WELLS Cemetery. Am trying to locate the burial site of Columbus E. WELLS and Mary Ann GROOVER. Bob Carter Greensboro, NC
