    3. Janet, I checked the index of "A Survey of Brooks County Cemeteries" of 1999 for the surname of HURST. This is what I found: Columbia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, page 36 This cemetery is located approximately 12 miles south of Quitman off of the Quitman, GA-Madison, FL highway to Nankin. Turn right onto dirt road at Nankin. The church and cemetery are a short distance to the left. HURST, Infant 03/17/1917 - 05/29/1917 c/o W. H. & Cora W. H. 02/04/1894 - 11/13/1918 NOTE: Many people in south GA and north FL died of the Spanish influenza in 1917 and 1918. My g grandparents William BROWN and Alice M. SPILLER BROWN died four days apart in December 1917 from the influenza. They lived in Madison Co., FL just over the FL/GA state line from Brooks Co., GA. My g grandparents Charles Monroe GRANT and Sara Elizabeth "Sadie" DENNIS GRANT lost two small children to influenza. They are buried at Dixie, Brooks Co., GA. I would suggest that you check out the Thomas County, GA RootsWeb page for your HURST relatives. Some of the HURST given names you listed are shown on the 1850 Federal Census index for Thomas Co., GA. I also found the HURST surname in the index of the History of Thomas County. <http://www.rootsweb.com/~gathomas> I'm sure you'll find the HURST surname in the counties around Brooks Co., GA at <http://www-personal.umich.edu/~cgaunt/georgia.html> Hope this helps.
