Andrew J. Barden Mr. Andrew J. Barden of Old Town, died Tuesday, July 17, at Suwannee Health care in Live Oak. Mr. Barden was born on March 30, 1914 in Brooks County, GA., and has lived in Old Town since 1950. Mr. Barden served in the Army during WWII. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He also was a Mason and enjoyed fishing. He was predeceased by his wife Willie Mae Barden in 1987. Mr. Barden is survived by four sons, Derl Barden, of Wasilla, Alaska, Doyle Barden, Old Town, Allen Barden, Ormond Beach, and A.J. Barden of Phoenix, Az., two daughters, Loretta Giddings, of Kanab, Utah, and Marleen Valentine, of Old Town, one brother, George Barden, of British Columbia, CA., two sisters, Ethel Wiggins, of Old Town, and Ruby Starling, of Mayo, 23 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 22 at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church with bro. James West officiating. Visitation was held at the Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry, Saturday, July 21 from 6 - 8 p.m. Joe P. Burns Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
