Alderman, b. 1866 in Berlin, Ga. Although Berlin is in Colquitt, it is rumored that the Alderman family actually came from Brooks, county. I checked the 1870 census for Colquitt and did not find William listed. I am guessing that his family lived in Brooks county. William married Nancy Turner, b. 1871 in Brooks county, and had several children including one set of twins. He was murdered on the courthouse steps in Moultrie in 1900 by a J.C. Curls.
