Marshall pastored the Methodist Church in Quitman, Georgia before he was appointed to the church in Sandersville, Georgia in 1937. He was killed in a tragic automobile accident near McRae, Georgia on July 21, 1939. His funeral service was held in the church in Sandersville, which he had just completed. An article written by Silas Johnson in the Wesleyan Christain Advocate states that his remains were carried to Quitman, Georgia where Mrs. (Dora) Marshall had elected to make her home, and were deposited in the beautiful cemetery to await the ressurection morning. I am a descendant and have only recently discovered this dear ancestor. I know that someone will provide more information and I am thankful for this opportunity to learn more about this man of God. It is our desire to come to Brooks County and visit the grave of Reverend M. M. Marshall, and most likely his dear wife, Dora. Please know that we appreciate the information that someone will share.
