I am tracking a group of Davises whose trail I first get in SC around the turn of 1800. In 1800-1820 or so they are in Washington, Wilkes and Warren Counties of north Ga, and win land along the way in Monroe Co, GA, the Indian lottery land. They seem to end up in Jefferson County, Florida by the late 1820s. There is a possibility that one of them, James Davis, son of John Davis, came through Thomas county and may be tied in to Brooks County. The major names are Ann Davis and her sister Cyntha or Cynthia, Edmund Davis, Francis Davis, Samuel Davis, Willis Turner Davis (who married Emma Charlotte Rowell in 1852). While all these names turn up on land transactions as witnesses to each other, etc. I cannot make a direct connetion between them. They even swap slaves around, so I know they are related, and are, at one point, dividing an inheritance. The father of one of them died in Ga in the 1830s. But who and where? Any help appreciated.
