John Clarke Mounger, 9th Georgia Vol. Infantry - CSA, for use in my upcoming book, "Georgia At Gettysburg". Colonel Mounger (1809-1863)was an attorney in Quitman and grandson of Rev. War hero Elijah Clarke. His wife was sister of Brig.Gen. Lucius J. Gartrell. The Colonel was killed in battle at Gettysburg, Pa., July 2, 1863. He is buried at Laurel Grove in Savannah.
