Dr. Briggs was born 1810 in Masss. He married Caroline Monroe Converse (1st husbands name)who was born in 1810 in Conn. Dr. Briggs went to Georgia (Brooks/Lowndes County) After his first wifes death he married Rachel Simmons. He and my great grandmother Martha Tatum Cliffs were never married, they had a long term relationship and had two daughters together. One of which was my grandmother. (I know!
