My father's mother was Harriett Lavonia Parker born Sept. 1869 (Maybe Fla.) Died Oct. 1937 in Brooks County, Ga. She married John Malone Barden in 1886 in Brooks County Ga. We know nothing about her parents or siblings. She did name one of her children Bessie (my father's sister). Its a long shot I know but perhaps your Joseph could be my Harriett's brother or cousin.

He was married to Exie (Evett) Yaughn Carter. This was her second marriage. Her first was to YAUGHN. She had 3 daughters by Yaughn (Willette, Martine, & Margaret). She had 3 daughers (2 twins) and a son by Jack Carter. Jeannette, Robert, Mary, & Martha. The twins were born Jul 1934 in Quitman GA. Jack Carter died Sep 15 1934. He is buried either in Barwick GA or Morven GA. The death certificate says he's buried Barwick Cemetary in Barwick GA. A Family Bible say Morven GA. He was a farmer. He died from complications after being in a car accident on Sep 13, 1934. The undertaker was S. E. Mc?? in Quitman GA. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also any info on Jack's father enlaw, Joe Evett. At the time of Jack's death, Joe's address on Jack's death certificate is listed as Rt 3, Quitman GA. His wife's name was Ida Evelyn.

(Valdosta) to the East and Thomas County (Thomasville) to the West. Quitman is the county seat. The county goes South to the FL-GA state line. I checked "Brooks County: Echoes of Its People" and "A Survey of Brooks County Cemeteries" for your John Silas O'NEAL. I did not find him in the index of either book. I checked my O'NEAL file and found a John "Jack" O'NEAL, b. Nov. 24, 1822, Twiggs Co., GA (Macon) to Britton O'NEAL and Ann EASTERLING. He died Oct. 24, 1897 in Bibb Co., GA. He is buried in the O'Neal Family Cemetery on his plantation. His father, Britton O'NEAL lived in Brooks Co., GA and Madison Co., FL. I don't know if this is your John Silas O'NEAL or not.
