Special guests, the Texian Legacy Assn., will re-enact the Nov. 18, 1835, encampment of Ward's Battalion after their first day's march from Macon and the presentation by Joanna Troutman of her banner was a forerunner of the Lone Star Flag of Texas. We're planning horseshoe and checkers tournaments, a Shape Note Singing, a courtroom drama, a pottery exhibit, agricultural demonstrations, old-time games and music, and foods like our great-great-greats would have eaten. We're still accepting applications from vendors of period handcrafts. We would love to find descendants of Joanna Troutman, Ward's Battalion volunteers, and Macon organizers of the volunteers for a registry. Please email me for more information.
