I'm researching the families of John H. TIDWELL (ca 1827-5/2/1895) and his second wife Sarah McCANNON (ca 1852-1921?), who are my husband's great-great grandparents through their son George Henderson Tidwell. They resided in Oglethorpe County for many years, but John H. Tidwell's parents and siblings were from Bibb County. He is the son of Hugh Millen Tidwell and Nancy STRAWBRIDGE. John H. Tidwell was first married to Charlotte PASS of Bibb County in the early 1850's. His second wife, Sarah McCannon, was the daughter of UNKNOWN and Sarah UNKNOWN. She spent most of her life in Oglethorpe County. I've seen her family name spelled various ways: including McCommon, McCammon, and simply Cannon. Kelli Mallard Sun City, CA
