Rutland district is in the southern part of Bibb County, just south of the Macon city limits. The major thoroughfare in that area is Houston Road (GA HWY 11)which leads off from US 129/GA 247 at the end of "seven bridges" intersection and connects with GA HWY 49 several miles down the road.
