    3. Hi, The list administrator suggested I put some information from the obit/write-ups on the mailing list. Perhaps it will trigger some ideas. Before I do that, this man was a builder and spent time in Delaware, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, then finally Oklahoma. His wife Ada (don't know her maiden name yet) was born in Georgia and according to the 1900 OK census they had been married 15 years-1885?) October 23, 1922 Collinsville (Oklahoma)News "United States Senator Walter George of Georgia who spoke here (Collinsville) last Saturday is an old acquaintance of P.J. Duffy. Mr. Duffy erected the Court House in the home town of the Senator thirty five years ago. They had quite a visit Saturday. (that puts P.J Duffy in Georgia about 1887.)" Excerpt from Obituary dated August 2, 1934 in Tulsa Daily World "Patrick J. Duffey was a native of Ireland but reared and educated in England. Learning the bricklaying trade, he served three years of apprenticeship in England and two in the United States. He came to this country in 1866 engaging in contracting in Delaware, South Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana before coming to Indian territory in 1906 for his health. Before his arrival here he had gained a wide reputation as the builder of what was then the largest church in the south, the catholic Church in Macon Georgia." I guess I'll be looking for a marriage record, and a church marriage record in Bibb County? about 1885, and perhaps an obituary from the Macon Georgia newspaper in August 1934? Also for his wife when she died on November 8, 1920. I would also like to get any info on him from a history of Catholic Church (St Joseph's) he built in Macon? No one can tell me that there are not the best people on mailing lists-thanks for all help already given, and any thoughts. nancy
