    1. [GABIBB] Henry HERMANN, ca. 1822-1875, buried Rose Hill Cemetery
    2. Russell K. Brown
    3. Henry HERMANN was a German Jewish immigrant to Georgia in 1849. He settled in Dublin where he was a merchant and postmaster. Served in the Civil War, moved to Dodge County where he died ca. February 1875 at age 52. Dodge County Newspaper Clippings, Vol I, 1873-1892 by Tad Evans, has an item from the Eastman newspaper of 4 Mar 1875 concerning a memorial resolution by the Masonic lodge of Eastman for HERMANN on 26 Feb, 1875, which states in part "His remains were deposited in Rose Hill Cemetery, Macon, Ga., with all the solemnities of Jewish rites and Masonic honors." Also, " . . . that these resolutions be published in the Eastman Times and Macon Telegraph and Messenger.. ." Can someone who has access to Rose Hill Cemetery tombstone inscriptions do a lookup for me on HERMANN? Can someone look for a death notice in the Macon Telegraph ca 26 Feb 1875? I realize the second request is harder to do. Thanks for any advice or assistance. Russell
