He was a son of Columbus C. Clark of Houston Co. Herschall married Amanda Emma Quattlebaum (b. 29 Oct 1864, Dooly Co). They had the following children: Howard Byron Clark, Fannye Mae Clark, b. 1892, and Columbus Cobb Clark, b. 1895. This family was listed in the 2-WD Macon, Bibb Co. in 1900 & 1910 census. Fannye Mae Clark m. John F. Kavanaugh, 1910 Their daughter, Frances Kavanaugh m. Stephen J. Kasmerski; and they had a son, S. J. Kasmerski, Jr. Columbus Cobb Clark, b. 1895, married Exie Blout
