He was born in 1792, in North Carolina, according to census records and lived for some time in Jones County, Ga. By 1823 he purchased land in Bibb County in the 3rd district. Lots, 143, 156, 189, 164, 196,195, 222, 202, 198 (son William), 109 (Green & all) (also has land in Jones County, Ga 153 3rd Dist from John Vaughan Jan 12, 1833 recorded 1843. He is on the Slave owners census as having 29 slaves. He is mentioned in the History of Macon,by Young, Gholson & Hargrove, (1823-1949) pg 169 " Keen political rivalry continued between the Democrat and Know Nothing parties and during the month of May (1855) the Democratic Party of Bibb County held a convention at which they denounced the secret policies of the Know-Nothings and affirmed the principles of state rights. Appropriate resolutions were drawn by P. Tracey, John B Lamar, OA Lochrane, James A Nisbet, Green Wilder and W.K DeGraffenried." His father was William Wilder, died Jones County in 1835, and mother unknown. He married Rebecca Goodin b 1795, possibly she was the daughter of Lewis Goodin of Jones County. He had Children: Susan b. 1814 married Starling Snelgrove 1834 William L or William Harrison married Nancy McCardle 1840 Frances Wilder b,1816 married Isaac Foreman Heard 1835 Eliza ? Joseph Green married Caroline E Greggory 1850 Sarah Ann married James Hatfield 1848 Lydia Ann married a Tucker Mary Ann ? Green Wilder did not leave a will but left a deed which indicated his daughter Sarah Hatfield & her children would inherit the land he was living on after the Civil War, if she would look after him in his old age and infirmity. Bibb County Deeds I would love to speak to other descendants, and know where Green & Rebecca are buried. I have quite a bit of information on Frances Wilder and her children.
