Thomas Burr Webb and Marriett Kirkham are my husband's great grandparents. >From "Carroll County Families: These Were The First" by Jim Lair. FHL 976.717 D3l. "Thomas Burr and Marriett Kirkham Webb became the parents of ten children, and the first eight of those children were born in Carroll County, Arkansas. Then, during 1891, the couple and their children left NW AR to move into Lampasas Co., TX and they settled in or near the community of Lomita." John Wesley Kirkham is found in the following: 1860 US Census Carroll County AR Jefferson Township pg 713 1870 US Census Pike County AR Missouri Twp. pg 221 I have John Kirkham and Emeline Richardson's children as: Sara Elizabeth b Dec 1851 Marriett b 18 Dec 1853 Melissa J. b 1859 John Wesley b Nov 1861 Here is all I've found on Melissa: I believe she is the same as listed in the 1880 Eureka Springs, Carroll, Arkansas Census, page 163C, FHL Film 1254039: Malisa Kirkham other f s w 20 b AR fa: GA mo: GA occ: work in hotel listed with the Clark family: Adam H. Clark self m m w 33 IN -- KY assisting in hotel There are several John Wesley Kirkham's who have died in Texas: 22 Nov 1916 and 25 Mar 1924. Although John Wesley Kirkham (b 1831/2) appears to have died in 1865 or 70 in Carroll Co., AR, his wife Emeline died in 1913 Texas. I would love a copy of your picture.
