I was hoping to learn more about the photo of 1912 that was just posted. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/bibb/photos.html I located a monument which I believe is the one shown in the photo. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pines/3093/pagemm.html The 2nd one on this page -- but there is no date of erection. I thought perhaps it was the occasion for the photo. This photo looks like there are either graves, or markers with information around it. Has anyone visited this site, that might clarify this. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pines/3093/ This is the main page -- so take time to visit other counties. Frankie has done an amazing job on this one! If anyone has the opportunity to visit the Washington Memorial Library, where the original photo is filed, perhaps the librarians there might have additional information about this monument and/or the reunion itself. I'm sure it was written up in the newspapers. Confederate Reunion 1912 May 7 -8 -9 (If anyone could locate something on microfilm for that time period -- it would be nice to add, and it just might help with the names. I feel certain there were more attending this 3 day convention than are pictured here. These are probably important people -- and perhaps connected to the erection of the monument. (I'm just guessing on this!) Virginia
