Debra, to add to what you've submitted to the archives, I was told by a Tidwell descendant that the land on which Bethel Baptist Church stands was donated by my husband's ancestor Hugh Millen Tidwell - and this resulted in the allotment of space for the Tidwell Cemetery there. Kelli Mallard

I have found her info on the 1850 Census. I have listed as spouse William Hunnicutt. Then as children: John, Elizabeth, Rossanah, Penelope (my line), George Ann, Sarah Josephine, and an infant. I do not have the names you listed as his children. I am really interested in the wills and marriage certificates and any other info you might have. I have not been able to find much research on the Honeycutts/ Hunnicutts. I have a photo of Penelope's grave marker. It says Penelope Honeycutt Tidwell. But the census says Hunnicutt. So I do not know the correct spelling. I also have a picture of Penelope Hunnicutt/Honeycutt and her husband. It is a beautiful old oval framed picture. I will see what I can do to post a transcript of the audio cassette I have from Bobby Stokes. I do have a lot of stories. He kept us laughing for hours. My dad, Butch Taylor spent a lot of time up in Lizella at the farm house his grandfather built on Tidwell road. His grandmother was Sallie Tidwell. Bobby Stokes lived down the road from him. in my youth, we would go up there once a year to visit all our relatives. I still talk to quite a few of them. One of my second cousins works at the forestry up there. But it has been since Thanksgiving 1997 that I was up there. I met my husband the weekend I got home from there and we got married and then had 3 kids in 4 years so I have been pretty busy :-) I looked up on the site Virginia sent me and there is the entire second side of the marker missing. One side shows William Eli Tidwell, Sr side and the other shows High Millens side. I also have all the children of George Tidwell and Elizabeth Walton's, plus their info. The 1980 date is the date that the Tidwell family started fixing up the cemetery. I have 2-3 letters from the Cemetery committee that was handling it all. They had started an annual reunion held there at the cemetery, but it kind of fizzled out too quick. I will work on the transcripts and entering everything I have online. If any of you are interested I can get hard copies from Kinkos of my family groups sheets or I can email you a GEDCOM file if you family history program accepts them. Just email me at debracryer@msn.com. Please be patient in my replies as I have a 5, 4 and 1 year old. But I will get back to you. Thanks! Debra Taylor Cryer
