The Berrien roll call and connecting with some cousins in July provided me with additional Sanders names/family members, correct middle names, and other new information in general. 1) Logan Sanders, b. late 1700s or early 1800s, moved to Berrien from Dooly County. He was married to Sarah Sally Fountain. Logan died, then Sarah Sally Fountain married Aaron Knight. Logan Sanders is buried near Hawkinsville, GA. Logan and wife Sarah Sally had at least two sons, Samuel Greenberry (Sr.) and Daniel A., and one daughter, Fannie. The "real gem" was discovering from a direct descendent that both S.G. Sr. and Jr.'s middle names were Greenberry, not Gabriel. Another real find was being able to confirm that Logan Sanders was a charter member of Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church, organized June 27, 1835. 2) Samuel Greenberry Sanders Sr., b. 1847, is buried at Long Bridge Cemetery, no DOB or DOD; marker says he was in Co. E. 54 GA Inf. CSA. A Sanders family Bible says he died in 1918. Beside him is buried a Francis F. Sanders, b. April 27, 1844, d. May 11, 1911. (I suspect this is his sister Francis Fannie Sanders since at least one of his children is also buried there.) 3) S.G. Sr.'s children by first marriage to Nancy Smith included seven children, not just three: Samuel Greenberry Jr.; Arthur J., Uley M., Atler, Herschel Van Burean, Lucrecia and Jessie. 4) S.G. Sr.'s children by his second marriage to Nancy Rhoden were Hiram A., Andrew Jackson and Eva Alice (not Eva Mae). 5) Marriage connections -- S.G. Sanders Jr. m. Lotta Olive Gaskins and had nine children, five of whom died. Uley or Ulie M. Sanders m. Sally B. Lindsey. Herschel Van Burean Sanders m. Leona Blunt. Lucrecia Sanders m. Kit Lindsey. Hiram A. Sanders m. Unknown Lindsey, daughter of Ash Lindsey. Andrew Jackson Sanders m. Jimmie Betty Jordan. A.J. may have been married twice, once to a Mims. If so, Betty was his second wife and they had one daughter. Eva Alice Sanders married Homer Columbus Walker, son of John Lewis Walker and Sally Coleman. S.G. Jr.'s oldest daughter Myrtle m. Arthur Brooker (not Sam), who died in the 1940s. 6) Birth and death dates, Berrien -- Daniel A. Sanders, d. March 19, 1919; Herschel V.B. Sanders, b.1884, d. July 1953, buried at Long Bridge along with his wife Leona B. Sanders, b. 1887; Ulie M. Sanders, b. May 23, 1872, d. May 30, 1919, wife Sallie B. Sanders b. Aug. 31, 1882, d. Aug. 16, 1962, both buried at Long Bridge; and, Olive Gaskins Sanders, wife of S.G. Sanders Jr., d. June 4, 1948. Jessie Sanders died at age 16 of TB. Sandy, You have some of my Berrien County Lindsey's listed in your post. I have information on Kit Lindsey but I have nothing on the other two you mentioned. Who is Ash Lindsey? I'm sure it has to be short for Ashley Lindsey but I'm not sure which one. (It might not be any of those I have in my index.) I have three listed in my index one born in 1811, one in 1886, and one in 1846. The one born in 1886 ended up in Arcadia, Florida. I don't have any information on him. By the way, Kit Lindsey's real name is Jackson Thomas Lindsey. If you have any information to share on the Lindsey's let me know.
