The Pioneers of Wiregrass GA has quite a bit of info on folks from Berrien and Lowndes (and other So. GA counties) in the 1800s-1900s. Includes the surnames Lightsey, Howell, Hughes, Hutto, Copeland, Smith, Zeigler and at least two dozen more. Some lines can be traced back to the 1700s, even 1500s, I believe. Believe it's a nine volume set, so it does take some diggin' -- and lots of patience. J.A.
