Jennifer, Diana, and All, Do any of you have any further information on the JONES in the Berrien County area? I would be very interested in reading more on them as they tie into my BOYD line. My 4th great grandfather's [Aden BOYD] sister Blansett or Blancett [various spellings] AKA "Blanchey" BOYD, was married to an Abner JONES from Berrien County. She was born about 1788, so I don't think the Abner JONES you listed before would be him. I have 2 children listed for them, sorry to say can't recall if I got this from Huxford's Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia or where at the moment. But the names I have are Daniel J. JONES and Nellie Jones, no dates or further information on them. Also, the afore mentioned grandfather, Aden BOYD, married the daughter of Arthur SYKES, but she was previously married to a JONES. I don't know his first name, but would like to. They are the parents of my 3rd great-grandmother Blansett [aka "Blanchey"! how confusing] BOYD who married Henry TISON. Guess that's enough muddy water for now. <VBG> Sharon Diana, Going through some old emails I came across your message. The daughter you listed, Polly Ann Griner, married first to Henry Jones on Jan 25, 1858 in Berrien County. I don't know for certain, but I suspect he died during the Civil War and she remarried to Micajah Paulk in 1866. Polly had two children that I know if with Henry. Nancy E. Jones b. abt 1863 Abner Jones b. abt 1865 Didn't know if you had this, but thought I'd throw it out there for any other Jones researchers who might need it. Jennifer

Their system must be running slooow. My Williams family was in Worth, Mitchell County after 1872 as that is when my ggggranddaddy (Hathcock) married Mary Ann Williams and his sister married Paul Boy Williams around 1879. Research shows that Paul and Mary Ann had a sister who never married, Lucy Logan Willams. Lucy's death cert lists her father as John Williams and her mother as Polly Johnson Williams. I found Polly and Lucy in the 1880 Berrien County census living in a household as domestic help. I cannot find them any furthur back than that. Ray Hathcock grayhath@tds.net

In book Berrien County Marriages section1856-1878 it shows Thomas P. Baker married a Martha Drawdy on 1-27-1859 Also Thomas Baker married Rebecca Kinard on 12-24-1862 could his name have been spelled another way? I looked in the section 1878 -1887 and there was nothing. Is it above the Lois Community or below. There is a White Pond Cemetery listed in Sue Hancock's Cemetery book but it also was an enumeration district on the 1930 Census. At that time, my grandparents and their children lived in White Pond Dist. We later lived in the Lois Comm. but never heard of White Pond. Doesn't mean it did not exist, just that I don't remember it. Neighbors in 1930 were Thomas Harnage and family. I have small pictures of Ruby and Vertie Harnage if anyone is interested. Joyce

Bill, I know Adel & Cook Co. well - played them in basketball in high school - they were very much like our girls' team & we hated for one of us to have to lose! Also, a dau of ELIZABETH (HOWELL) JONES & husb, HENRY H. JONES - MARGARET (JONES) SHAW mar SAM JOSSEY who was a school principal in Cook Co, I believe....... Also, for others - on that note about the surname of GRINER - the present Probate Judge of Berrien Co, GA is SUSAN (WEBB) GRINER. Sarah Howell Studstill (old Berrien Co, GA lines of HOWELL, LAMB, CARROLL, LOVEJOY, TALLEY)

Hi Genealogy buddies, I just wanted to remind everyone that this is the time of year when people may be getting a computer for the first time. It would help to change the title pertaining to the subject. Lots of time people forget when they hit reply, to ask a question or something, that the title might need changing. People will be getting on, and searching and scrolling the archives, and might miss their connection to you or your family. Also, lots of times people see the same title, which may not contain the names they are looking for, and delete them. So try ot remember to change the title, and put all the info you can into it. It would be most helpful that way. Hoping your brick wall comes tumbling down, Kay PS....hoping you don't get duplicates, but if so, you will know we on on the same list! LOL
