    3. Hi All, I am new to the list and searching for a PHOTO of WILLIAM M. ADAIR, whether individual or family shot as long as it shows a good, clear shot of the face. ROBERT SIDNEY ADAIR was born in South Carolina in 1783. He descended from one of the old families of the Adairs of Scotland. His great grandfather was Robin Adair, a boon companion of Robert Burns, the Scottish Bard. His wife, MARTHA PATSY LEFEVRE was related to the distinguished Lefevre family, originally of France and then South Carolina. Her mother was a widow named Milliner LETCHER whose maiden name came from the important family of KEY in Virginia. They were married in South Carolina and then later moved to Gwinnett County, GA in 1818. The immediate family of Robert Sidney Adair, who became a Judge, consisted of two daughters and four sons. ELIZABETH ADAIR married Moses A. BRANDON in 1837 and died of consumption in Cass County (present day Bartow County) in 1847. PATSY ADAIR married Joseph A. YOUNG in 1843 and died in Cass County. MADISON LEFEVRE ADAIR, the oldest son, lived in Lawrenceville and married the daughter of Berryman CAMP of Jackson County, GA. ROBERT SIDNEY ADAIR JR married 1st Eliza Ann HOOD, the daughter of James Hood, and 2nd a Miss PRICE. Another son, TERRY JACKSON ADAIR died in 1868. The youngest son, WILLIAM M. ADAIR was killed in action at Gettysburg in the Army of Northern Virginia on July 4, 1863. Have much information to share on this family and am hoping to connect with someone related to this family line that will have an old family PHOTO that will include the youngest son, William M. Adair. I am badly in need of the photo for a Civil War research project that is very important. Best regards, Jane
