Susan was the daughter of James and Mary Mayben who were born in SC. Susan died, in childbirth, of Typhoid. This article appeared in the Current American newspaper on 7/28/1892 and I was thrilled to find it as I didn't have the death date of my grandmother. Death of a good lady. "On Tuesday, the 19th, at her home in at Cass Station, GA , Mrs. A.M. Strain, after an illness of nearly four weeks with typhoid fever, passed peacefully and triumphantly from the scenes of this world to the glories of heaven. She was forty-two years of age, and the mother of ten children, all of whom, with her devoted husband, mourn the loss of a loving, gentle, patient mother, and a true, kindly, and affectinate wife. To them the sympathies of their friends go out in the sad afflictions that has come to their hearts and their home. Mrs. Strain was a staunch member of the Methodist church and a God-fearing christian, and is now reaping the reward of all her suffering and care." Also the death of her young baby follows and the following death notice is as follows: The Courant American October 27, 1892 "Cass Station" Last Monday night after a lingering illness of some weeks, little Rubie Strain, infant daughter of Adolphus and Susan Strain, passed from earth, to join her mother in heaven. Little Rubie is buried there with her mother. I haven't been to the Pine Log Methodist Church Cemetery to see if their graves are marked and I'm afraid they may be unmarked but this is where they are buried according to my dad. Virginia Crilley
