    1. [GABARTOW] 1864 Confederate Census

    3. I do not know if you know about this or not....I just stumbled upon it at the Cobb County library tonight. In 1864 the Confederate Government conducted a census to see how many able bodied men there were to refill the ranks of the army. From what I could tell the ages start at 15 and go up to 40's or 50's. It is a counting of all the men who were not currently in the Army. What's neat about it is that they give the occupation and the reason the person was exempt from service. If anyone is interested I will get the exact title and may be willing to do look ups.
