    1. [GABARTOW-L] Hudson-Pinson
    2. James H. Davis
    3. My 3rd great-grandfather was Augustine Frank Pinson, born Hall Co. ca. 1826. His parents were Elijah Pinson & Lovicey Herrin. About 1846, Frank Pinson apparently married Nancy Hudson, who was probably born in the Hall/Cass-Bartow Co. vicinity abt. 1826. Frank & Nancy are enumerated next to Elijah Pinson in the 1850 census. As of 1820, Elijah's father, Moses Pinson, lived in Hall Co. close to Alford Hudson. Does someone have access to marriage books for the Hall/Cass-Bartow & surrounding counties for around 1846 who might be able to check for a marriage license for them? Also, Nancy was supposedly Cherokee. Is there any way to verify that? Can anyone connect Nancy to other Hudson's in the area? Thanks for ANY help. I'm desparate! Jim Davis

    3. Any information about Thomas B. Baker, pioneer settler, would be appreciated. Records show that Thomas B. Baker, family and 40 slaves moved into early Bartow. Family letters state that he owned a large plantation in GA and he was born in England. Was he the Capt Thomas Baker who was killed in a duel with Jacob Brown in Sumter District, SC April 1789 ? Was Bartow ever a part of Liberty County?

    1. [GABARTOW-L] RE: William Vaughn
    2. There were in fact 9 William Vaughn's listed in Lillian Henderson's rosters and the one from the Chreokee Legion was not included - making 10 The 21st - Co. C was fromed from Fulton County, and the 31st Co. F was formed from Pulaski, so that's not much help - although the 31st Co. E was formed from Bartow. The Cherokee Legion rosters are a part of that group of service records on microfilm which have not been transcribed - rolls 578 - 579 in this case. I have extracted the names and confirmed that William is on the roll of Co. B, but I have not read the service records yet to be able to give any other details.
