Researching the Buford, Freeman, Henderson families of Bartow Co...specifically the area near Taylorsville and Eurharlee. Names include Peter and Sterling Buford, John and George T. Freeman, John S. and Oscar H. Henderson. The Bufords appear to have made the track from SC to GA in the early 1860's while the Freemans appear in Cass Co. in 1850. The Hendersons arrived from Laurens Co. SC before 1860. It is possible that there is a connection between the Henderson family and the Black family of Eurharlee. Michael Tucker Gadsden, AL

I find John W. Cox on the 1830 Georgia Census. I do not know if he was born just before he was on this Census (there was no one else listed with him), in another county or state. At the time this Census was taken, Cass Co. was part of the Cherokee Nation. It is now called Bartow County, GA. Any help is greatly appreciated! Janet, Texas John W. As a new subscriber, could SKS please tell me how to get the marriage certificate of William GOODDIN and Nancy Jane DILLARD m July 21 1840 in Bartow. Also what information would be on it? I have the DILLARD information but have nothing on the GOODDINs. I am hoping to discover his date and place of birth and his parents' names. They are my daughter's ancestors. As you can imagine, it is very difficult to research US records from Australia. Sorry to post this to the list, but I wasn't sure what else to do. I was looking through the GABARTOW-L archives, and I ran across a man who posted some information on Cassville Church Records. The post was made in 1998. I tried to send him an email but it came back to me. I was just wondering if Donny Arnold was still on this list, or if anyone knew how to get in contact with him? Many thanks in advance for any help, and Donny if you are still out there, please contact me. Thanks, Kim Wilson Email: KimWilson67@aol.com

Trying to find info on my 2 xgreat grandparents Fielding Mapp Smith(1809 GA) and Susan A. Nunnally Smith(1815 VA). They were married in Clarke County in 1832 & are on the Clarke 1840 census. They moved before 1850 to the county line of Bartow & Paulding. They are listed on the 1850,60,70,80 Paulding Census. However they claimed residence in Bartow. Their children were Elizabeth(1834) married Samuel Stewart, John Mapp Smith (1836) we think married a Rebecca (Carpenter???), Robert W. Smith (1838), Moses Smith (1839), Mary F Smith (1842), Joseph Smith (1847), George Smith(1857), and Sarah Smith, my gr-grandmother, who married Henry Washington Brown in Paulding & lived there all her life. Really have no other info on their children except Sarah & Elizabeth. I have the Smith line back to 1759 & the Mapp's back to 1615. Would like to find out about the other children. Also I went into the Barotw page & saw the wills listed. Are these all the wills - or are there more that are not listed?? Wanted to check & see if Fielding & Susan may have left a will in Bartow. We do not even know when they died or where they are buried. They were alive on the 1880 cenus. Could someone send me the address of the Probate court in Cartersville??? Any help on this line would be appreciated. Suzi Motley in NC
