BANKS/FRANKLIN/STEPHENS county folks I just printed out the first draft of 772 pages of the proposed book and WOW it is the most boring piece of dribble since Eisenhower was a Corporal. Starts out well enough on the Kesler/Keasler families but soon turns boring as the dribble takes over as John born 1793 married Susan and had 16 children named x, y, and z. I have a few civil war letters that make a grand story of 2 brothers dying on the battlefields. I have a bunch of wills and land deeds that create interest I have a few pictures to brighten the otherwise dull material but I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MATERIAL TO MAKE THIS BOOK INTERESTING TO READ. How can we get the interest of our children and grandchildren if the book does not have pictures, old letters, diaries, other items that make a book, any book interesting??? If you want to help here is what the book consists of so far AND IT IS TOO BIG AND MUST BE CUT DOWN IN SIZE. If I don't get some more interest I will likely just eliminate whole chapters on whole families. 1] page 1 thru 154 covers the Intruductory info and the KEASLER/KESLER families and it could be and should be another 100 pages if folks would break loose and share their info with us. 2] page 154 thru 195 AYERS family 3] page 195 thru 249 CRUMP family 4] page 248 thru 277 PURCELL family and I have most of what Claude Purcell had in his manuscript that was never published just printed out and sold to the reunion participants. This should be much larger in volume. 5] page 277 thru 356 LEDBETTER Family no pics no old letters no nothing bu data such as statistics of the birth and death and taxes and marriages, no interest from anyone on this. 6] page 356 thru 365 PAYNE; probably will throw this out unless it gets better. 7] page 365 thru 367 TERRELL probably will throw this out too, nothing here except data on family births etc. 8] page 367 thru 403 MABRY Family no pics no wills no land deeds etc. 9] page 403 thru 429 MILLER this can grow, I do have more that will make this better. 10] page 429 thru 431 WHITFIELD nothing to spice this one up either. 11] page 431 thru 548 MARTIN family has much on folks far away but missing critical local families and branches that are still living in Prospect and close by e.g. Franklin and Stephens and Banks counties. A few pics and wills but not enough. 12] page 548 thru 574 GUEST Family this will probably be deleted due to lack of interest from anyone. 13] page 574 thru 772 POOLE Family: There are so many MABRYs in this and other crossovers into other families that it might be well just to delete this chapter as well and I certainly have had no one show any interest in this info. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ So that is where we are at the moment. I have had some folks send me their GEDCOM files and their Family Group Sheets and I have given their names as participating in the ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS up front but more, MUCH MORE info is needed. If you want your branch of any of the above families included please send me your info. I will repeat this one more time. I WILL REAP NO FINANCIAL BENEFIT from this book it will be donated to the Prospect Methodist Church to be printed and or published as their project and any money collected will go to them. That is if they will accept it. The main theme or objective is to commemorate the family histories of the original members of the board of trustees of the Prospect Methodist Church which was established 1838 out of the previous Kesler Campground. Which reminds me I still need info on the old Kesler campground from old letters, diaries, ledgers, newspaper articles or whatever you might have. Who knows how much longer I will live or be able to continue this project so I have placed a cutoff date for info as 1 March 2000. I will put it to bed finished or not at that time. Sincerely requesting your help, and the help of your acquaintances, Charles. C. C.
