Vicky, I appreciate your help. I am having trouble finding the birth records of David. His military papers state he was born in Homer, so I thought there may be a church record. He was married in Gillsville Baptist Church in 1865; however, the records were destroyed in a fire and I don't know if this is the church his parents attended. I know he died in 1908 in Madison County. David was married to Sarah E. Sheridan Garrison (my ggrandmother). I am trying to locate a Bible that belonged to Sarah for my father who is 89. Sarah's Bible was left in England (don't know which side of the family had the relatives in England), so I am trying to trace both sides to find the link. Daddy was Sarah's favorite and finding her Bible is extremely important to my dad. Thanks again. Love in Christ, Allene.
