His father is William Crofford Hill b. 1831 d. 1902 and he was born in Georgia? Do you know where? James A Hill was the brother to my husband's gr-gr-grandfather, Washington Floyd Hill. Their parents were a James (b. abt 1801) and Zelah Poole Hill both maybe born in SC or GA. After 21+ years of marriage, this is my family too! So I can relate. Anyway, I have also spoken to Mr. Chambers and am waiting to receive my cemetery book. I could look for your marriage record that next time I go to the State archives.
