SMITH. They are both buried at Grove Level Church near Homer. Thomas may have been a son of Markus SMITH (1827-1904) and Mary Jane BROOME (1830-1901). If he was, he was born in Spartanburg County, SC and had at least 2 brothers in the Banks County area. Markus SMITH was described in the new Banks County Cemetery Book's obituary section as, "an aged citizen of Berlin District, who lived on the Cochran place."
