He is listed as living in the "Cherokee Intruders" Limestone Settlement in 1809. The 1830 census lists him as living in Cherokee, GA. He married Kezia Stokes (Connelly), widow of Charles Connelly of NC. Children were: Hezekiah, Lucy, Samuel III, Elizabeth, Joseph, Polly, and John Willis. Samuel died in 1845 in Franklin County, GA. The land on which he lived later became part of Banks County, GA when Banks County was formed. Does anyone know where the Limestone Settlement was located? Those people living in the settlement were required to have official permission from and be registered with the U.S. government's Cherokee agent. Deb Kroll
