MR. MOTE Habersham County native DEMOREST - Hoyt Rufus Mote, 64, died Friday, December 29, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center. Mr. Mote was born August 24, 1936, in Habersham County, a son of the late Rev. Charlie and Frances Tench Mote. He worked at Orbit Manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith. A memorial service was held Sunday, December 31, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Melvin Stephens officiating. Mr. Mote's body was donated to science. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Joan McEntire Mote, Demorest; two daughters, Marcia Elaine Ramey, Cleveland, and Mary Ann Lawrence, Homer; one son, Michael Mote, Demorest; one sister, Barbara Ann Echols, Demorest; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
