List Members, Yesterday, I posted a request for information on this message board and I received a reply not through the board, but through email. The woman had sent an attachment and being stupid, I opened it. Needless to say, it contained a virus which infected my email program. It began randomly sending messages to all sorts of places from my email address. I only noticed it when I next checked my email. You can imagine my shock when I received over 150 delivery failure notices. The good Lord only knows how many actually went through. I would like to say for the record that I believe this lady passed the virus on unintentionally. I'm not going to name names, but she should check her hard drive immediately and take steps to clean it up. However, if it was intentional, I would like to say emphatically: I don't have time for this kind of nonsense. It took me almost 6 hours to find and clean the infected files. Hours that could have been better served sleeping. (My wife is due to deliver our first child in less than 4 weeks. I should be stocking up on sleep-- it may be the last I get for a while.) In any case, List Members should be alert for email messages that contain attachments. Viruses can hide in most any type of file. I'm not an authority on the subject, but I would think that files from Family Tree Maker and similar type programs would be just as susceptible to viruses as any other. In over 6 years of being online, this is the first virus I've encountered. I know I won't be opening any more attachments. I should've known better in the first place. Take care David Lineberger Davenport, IA davjen128@earthlink.net
Hello List Does any subscriber know of any websites or books that would give names and information on soldiers from Banks County that served during World War I and World War II? Thanks in advance David Lineberger Davenport, IA davjen128@earthlink.net

Marie, I'm related to the Whitfield's. My ggrandfather, Ray Whitfield, was brother to Asbury Whitfield. As far as I know I'm not related to the Fowler family. If anyone knows of a Malissa/Molissa born about 1812 in N.C. or S.C. let me know. She married Ray Whitfield in the 1830's. I'd love to find a marriage for them. Donnie in Indiana
Donnie, Yes, Lucy Whitfield was wife to Jerry Ward. I also have the Whitfields. How are you connected to the Wards and are you connected to the Fowlers?
